Recap

Walking in Victory: Peculiar People-One way we can walk in victory is to understand who we are in Christ. According to 1 Peter 2:9, “9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” As it turns out, the meaning of the phrase “peculiar people” does not mean “strange.” The word “peculiar comes from the Latin word meaning “flock.” So as Christians we are members of God’s flock. Not only are we members of his flock, but when we accepted Christ, we became God’s possession.

  • Romans 10:9-10

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

  • 1 Thessalonians 4: 16-18

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

  • Proverbs 3: 5-6

5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

  • Isaiah 40:31

31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

  • Jeremiah 29:11

11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

  • Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

  • Philippians 4:6-7

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

  • James 1:2-4

2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, [a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

  • Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

  • John 3:16

For God so loved the world that HE gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
